Q&A OF THE WEEK |
|
A member informed us that we shouldn’t offer cookies to our members in our lobby due to health and liability issues (allergies, choking, etc). We have always offered treats to our members and would like to continue to do so. What types of things should we consider?
Our first recommendation would be to contact your insurance carrier. This may or may not be covered under your insurance policy, but it would be good for the credit union to know either way.
You could also try different things, such as posting a sign stating that the cookies may contain nuts, wheat, egg, or any other potential allergens.
You could also try offering different treats, such as candy, coffee, or juice.
Other credit unions have also made dog treats available in their drive thru and will ask if the member wants a treat for their pup.
